Scott Yanow is one of the most prolific and widely
respected jazz journalists in the business.

He has penned over 500 liner notes

for such labels as Concord, Naxos, Enja, Pablo, Arbors, Evidence, V.S.O.P.,
Good Time Jazz, Reservoir, Storyville, Brownstone, JVC, Challenge, Starline,
Candid, Soundies, Woofy, Brownstone, Fuel 2000, Jazzed Media, Fuel 2000
and Collectors Classics.

Scott Yanow has written a countless number of artist
biographies and press releases for record labels, public
relations firms and individual artists.

He has written extensively for the websites of trumpeter Carl
Saunders, bassist John Clayton and others.

He has produced a series of highly-rated reissue CDs

for Allegro (32 albums featuring classic jazz greats) and worked as a
consultant to other labels about their reissue projects.

Scott Yanow has written nine books on jazz, so far.

These include Jazz On Film (which has reviews and ratings of over 1,300
movies, documentaries, shorts, DVDs and videos), Jazz On Record 1917-
76, Trumpet Kings (colorful entries on the 479 greatest jazz trumpeters of
all time), Classic Jazz (the 1920s), Swing, Bebop, Afro-Cuban Jazz, Jazz:
A Regional Exploration and Duke Ellington.
In addition, Yanow's opinions and knowledge of jazz and its history have been
cited in many books.

Yanow has written for virtually every major and minor jazz
magazine

including Downbeat, Jazz Times, Jazziz, Cadence, Coda, The Mississippi Rag,
Jazz Forum, Jazz News, The Jazz Report, Planet Jazz, Jazz Now, Jazz Improv,
the Mississippi Rag and The Los Angeles Jazz Scene.

Scott Yanow was the jazz editor for the third edition of the All
Music Guide To Jazz, has written thousands of CD reviews for their
website and is believed to have written more jazz record reviews than
anyone in history.

Yanow has participated in many panel discussions about jazz,

was interviewed on-camera by CNN about the Monterey Jazz Festival and
appears in the Arts & Entertainment televised American Masters biography on
Dizzy Gillespie.
